This week we are continuing the series “Fruitful Lives” and the theme is Patience. On a scale of 1 to 10 how important is patience? According to James the brother of Jesus it is a critical barometer for our lives.
S Psalm 37:7 (ANIV)
7 Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret when men succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.
S Psalm 130:5-6 (ANIV)
5 I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, and in his word I put my hope.
6 My soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning.
This runs so contrary to our world where everything is fast paced.
S Proverbs 14:29 (ANIV)
29 A patient man has great understanding, but a quick-tempered man displays folly.
S Proverbs 15:18 (ANIV)
18 A hot-tempered man stirs up dissension, but a patient man calms a quarrel.
S Proverbs 16:32
32 It is better to be patient than powerful. It is better to win control over yourself than over whole cities.
