“The faithful love of the LORD never ends; His mercies never cease. Great is His faithfulness; His mercies begin afresh each morning” Lamentations 3.22-23
These words from Jeremiah in the midst of very dark days for Jerusalem bring us great reassurance as they tell of God’s never-ending love for us, a love far beyond our understanding; His faithful presence with us at all times in every situation, and the promise of His mercies afresh each day.
No matter how we are feeling or whatever circumstances face us as we wake up to each new day, we can be assured of His presence with us and His love surrounding us as He provides us with all we need to deal with the day in His strength and power. We are reminded of Paul’s words to the Philippians:
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4.13
As Lesley encouraged earlier in the week, let’s continue to pray together: for comfort and healing for those who are suffering grief and hardship; for protection for NHS workers, Care workers, and all key workers who are giving so much of themselves, giving thanks for their dedication, compassion and commitment; and for God’s wisdom for our government and all those with crucial decisions to make in the coming days and weeks.
How blessed we are that we can rest in the assurance that our Father God is in control –
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28).
With love and blessings
